About Us
Fergusson Home & Retirement Village is a small, independent facility situated in beautiful gardens close to the heart of Rotorua. Originally built and operated by Presbyterian Support Services in the 1960s, it has since been renovated and modernised: bedrooms enlarged and ensuites added.
It is privately-owned and operated by ‘Fergusson House Restcare Ltd’: a small group of individuals who are hands-on in all aspects of the business.
Louise Davey is our Facility Manager. She is supported by two experienced Registered Nurses with the day-to-day clinical operations. Both Registered Nurses have a good understanding of the nursing needs that are specific to aged care and the management skills relating to the day-to-day operations of an aged-care facility.
Our Philosophy
We, as owners, are committed to achieving the best standard of care and service for our residents within a warm and caring environment.
We strongly believe that everyone is unique: with different life experiences, values and relationships. So we ensure that cultural, spiritual and emotional differences are acknowledged and respected.
We also believe that aged care should be a welcoming community that feels like home. So it is important to us that our staff regularly consult with residents and families/whanau to ensure we are providing high-quality, personalised care that is centred around our residents’ likes and dislikes.
We are also a member of the Retirement Villages Association (RVA) and our retirement village has a statutory supervisor. It means that we undergo audits to ensure we meet all the requirements of the Retirement Villages’ Code of Practice.
